Yes. My teaching system is designed for students who struggle with attention, focus and motivation. I break down my lesson into small segments to help your child stay engaged. After the lesson, I will implement micro deadlines to ensure your child is consistent with their work.

Can you teach my child who hates or dislikes math?

Yes. Students who hate math usually come from either weak foundations, low confidence or repeated low grades. I will diagnose this during the 1st lesson and implement strategies to help them increase their confidence and/or strengthen their foundations.

Will you adapt to my child’s learning style?

Yes. Because lessons are 1-to-1, I can adjust the pace, level of support and amount of practice around how your child learns best.

What if my child is already doing well and wants to improve further?

I will refine your child's answering techniques to make sure they are not losing marks to careless mistakes. Moreover I will provide harder question types or past year papers to challenge your child to ensure they maintain their A grades.

What actually happens during a lesson?

A typical 2-hour lesson usually begins with me going through the homework assigned to your child at the end of the previous lesson. Afterwards, we will usually go through their next weak topic or a topic tested for the upcoming exams. At the end of it, I will assign homework to your child using micro deadlines throughout the week.

How long before I see results?

It depends on the starting point and consistency outside lessons. Many of my students improve 1 to 2 grades after about 2 months of tutoring. I will give you an honest view of your child’s progress.

What if my child doesn’t improve?

I will diagnose whether the cause is a foundation gap, lack of confidence or time management. I will then adjust my approach for future lessons so your child does not make the same mistakes again during future exams.

How do you explain difficult concepts?

I break each concept down to the simplest form and teach it in a way using terms your child understands. Each child is different so the terms I use will differ from everyone else.

Yes. I update parents regularly. I will share your child’s progress. I may also ask for your help to remind your child about homework or micro deadlines between lessons.

I note down mistakes made during every lesson and assign homework based on the mistakes made by your child. Subsequently, I will periodically re-assign homework on the very same mistakes.

What do you do when my child loses focus mid-lesson?

I break my lessons into small segments so your child is focused. When I see their focus dropping, I will give them a short break to reset their focus.

What if my child refuses to do homework?

I will first find out whether the homework is too difficult or due to avoidance. I will then make the task smaller and clearer, implementing accountability techniques like micro deadlines and incentives to motivate them to do their homework.

How do micro deadlines help a distracted child?

A deadline that is a week away does not exist for a distracted brain. I split homework into micro assignments due throughout the week so your child works in short bursts with quick wins instead of one last-minute panic. I hold them accountable to each deadline.

No. My teaching system is built for any student who struggles with attention, focus or motivation. Just tell me what you observe at home and I will adapt the lessons from there.

Do you offer trial lessons?

Yes. I offer a paid trial lesson instead of asking you to commit to a package. The lesson also serves as a diagnostic so I can identify your child’s academic bottlenecks and show you how I would address them. The trial is standalone and is not credited toward a package unless we agree otherwise. Message me on WhatsApp for the trial rate.

How do payments work?

Lessons follow a prepayment model and rates start from $520 per month. Your exact rate depends on your child’s level and needs and I will confirm it with you on WhatsApp before any payment. Payment is made upfront each month before lessons begin.

Question 19

Can we cancel or reschedule a lesson?

Accepted Answer

Since lessons are prepaid, cancellations are not accepted but rescheduling is allowed with a valid reason. With >24 hours of notice, the lesson will be rescheduled to a slot where I am available, either online or in person. Up to 2 lessons can be rescheduled a month and each must be held within 14 days of the original date. Anything beyond that is considered case by case. With <24 hours of notice, the lesson continues as per normal.

What happens if you are the one unavailable?

If I know in advance, you will be informed before the next billing cycle and not charged for that lesson. If I have to cancel last minute, I will arrange a replacement lesson of a similar format at no cost. If your child cannot make the replacement, the next payment is adjusted accordingly.

1 lesson a week. However, if your child needs more help or wants to jump subject levels (eg G1 to G2 or G2 to G3), 2 lessons a week is preferred (subject to my availability).
